Year 3

 Year 3

Welcome to the year 3 homepage.

My name is Mr Hollinrake and I teach year 3. I am really looking forward to all the exciting work that we have planned this year and supporting the children through the process of transitioning from KS1 to KS2.

Perfect Presenters

Additional Homework

Alongside the spellings and times tables you will get every week, it is also vital that you hear your child read as many times as possible, and then have your child to write a note in their communication diary, which will be checked everyday.
For some additional homework you may want research some of the following and present this in any way that you like to the class.

  1. Bring in any pictures or leaflets you may have from around Europe.
  2. Research a country and look at the food that they may eat.
  3. Create a poster, leaflet or map from a country in Europe.

Autumn 1
A Passport to Europe

Our Real Life Learning topic this half term is A Passport to Europe. We will be developing a cultural awareness of different countries and using our research skills to enable us to understand Europe as a continent. We will be using persuasive speech to enable us to think like a speech writer; as well as comparing and contrasting different localities to enable us to think like a country ambassador.

                Help needed
If you are able to volunteer to come in and read with Year 3 please let Mr Hollinrake know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
