At Acton aim to meet the needs of each individual and offer different levels of support.

Universal Support- To meet the needs of all our pupils through our school ethos and our wider curriculum.

Additional support- For those who may have short term needs and those who may have been made vulnerable by life experiences.

Targeted support- For pupils who need more differentiated support and resources or specific targeted interventions such as wellbeing groups.

Positive Mental Health

At Acton CE Primary Academy we endeavor to support the emotional health and well-being of both our pupils and staff. Throughout our lives we all may face a range of challenges and as a result of these challenges anyone may need additional emotional support.

At our school we strive to help children in a number of ways. Along the journey children will:

  • Understand their emotions and reach their full potential.
  • Develop sensory awareness to regulate themselves.
  • Learn how to manage anxiety.
  • Manage emotional difficulties more effectively.
  • Become more emotionally resilient
  • Improve self-esteem and confidence
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with peers and adults.
  • Develop and enhance social skills.
  • Build a toolkit of coping strategies when faced with challenging times.
  • Strengthen their relationships in school and at home.
